El histórico tercer álbum de estudio de la legendaria agrupación de hip-hop Public Enemy, Fear of a Black Planet (1990), es una obra cumbre que definió la era dorada del rap político. Consiguió una aclamación histórica unánime y fue preservado en el Registro Nacional de Grabaciones de la Biblioteca del Congreso de EE. UU. por su incalculable valor cultural. La producción a cargo de The Bomb Squad es una genialidad técnica insuperable, construyendo un muro de sonido revolucionario a base de capas hiperdensas de samples fracturados, sirenas y ritmos de funk agresivos. Líricamente, Chuck D entrega discursos brillantes e incendiarios contra el racismo institucional, la brutalidad policial y la supremacía blanca, mientras que Flavor Flav equilibra la tensión con su carisma.
